Restorative yoga and reiki are both relaxing practices that can be combined to create a deeper healing experience. 🙌 ✨Restorative yoga involves holding yoga poses for longer periods of time (5-20 minutes) while being comfortable and fully supported by props like blankets, bolsters, and blocks. This helps the body relax and open up, which can lead to stress reduction, improved digestion, and better sleep by dropping out of the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) into the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). In restorative yoga we aren’t looking for the deepest stretch, but rather to feel an opening sensation within the body. 🙌Reiki is a Japanese technique that involves channeling healing energy, or ki, through the body to promote well-being and wholeness. When combined with restorative yoga, the Reiki energy can help release emotional, mental, and physical stress. ✨Restorative yoga is great for all levels. If you love savasana (the pose where you get to lie down) you will love restorative yoga. Perfect for anyone looking to start a meditation practice as we get the body to relax, the mind follows.
